Well were still playing the waiting game. It's possible that none of this could
come off.
However were ready to go the brochure is done and just needs a proof read so
as soon as confirmation comes with regards to the rights we can send out the
product.
I hate calling us a product, i'm not down with the marketing lingo.
I also hate waiting!!! Gonna find another play to do tomorrow in case this
all goes up the swanny.
Peter Brad-Leigh is onboard for Neville's Island should we get the rights.
Kev told him he has to audition!! What a laugh Welshy!!!
Friday 13th October 2006
Not a bad day as the title would suggest. No replys though. We are waiting
for three, One from Frank Mcguinness to his literary agent giving us a green
light for a small scale tour to take to the road at some point next year.
Also we are waiting for another reply with regards to 'Someone' transfering
to the Trafalgar Stuios early next year.
Ooo West End that could be exciting, well there is alot more to this than them
saying yes. We would have to ask Frank Mcguinness if he has any objections
to a central London run. There will be some heavy costs i bet. Still it's a
nice idea, and nice to know that people have heard of our recent success.
The third email is awaiting confirmation that we can hold the rights for Neville's
Island for a four week run in March/April of next year.
Oh well we'll have to wait till monday.
But wait what it this, oh that's promising, Streetwise Fringe have contacted
me. Apparently if they are very interested in Yaller Skunk taking Neville's
island out to Dubai in May next year transfering at some point to Abu Dhabi.
Yaller Skunk goes international!!!!!
Keep ypur fingers crossed over the weekend. The rule of three. Three good emails
is all we need.
Cuckoo!!! keep watching over us Stan.
Tuesday 10th October 2006
Myself and Kevin spent all day on the computer today siffting through endless
plays. I thought we had a hit with art at one point but martins right
were to young.
By the end of the day we are stuck on Pinter. We could do a double bill. 'The
Dumb Waiter' maybe and one other.
I'm not sure, we seem to have ended up in the trap that we were in before 'Someone'.Picking
plays at random because they appeal to a certain audience. Why did we
choose Someone Who'll Watch Over Me?
It had nothing to do with audience numbers or appealing to the curriculum that's
for sure. No we choose it because we wanted to do it. We love the play and
we believed we could do it justice.
Neville's Island, it's got to be. it's perfect. it's a comedy so in complete
contrast to our first production. Ok it might not draw a big crowd, but i believe
we can build a reputation for quality entertainment and neville's island would
be perfect for us.
Let's apply for the rights.
Trafalgar Studio's have also now expressed a mild interest in 'Someone' we
are to email three different parties by Friday. Let's get in on plays in the
backround. yeah Marvin you know it.
Friday 6th October 2006
There is a real strange feeling tonight. We've been offered an extention
to run the show for a couple more weeks. Great for the company as it's nice
to be asked. But we all have other commitments
I guess this strange feeling is due to the fact that we know it's nearly over
but there doesn't seem to be that pressure as we all know we could end
up running some extra shows in the next two weeks.
Persoally i don't want us to waste our time. i'd rather have a clean endding
and begin planning a tour of 'Someone' rather than dripping the show over
a a thrown together audience.
Still a good warm up, Keeping Clifford in the air was the best score to date
198!!! We'll beat those aussies i tell you.
The show purrs. Everyone is histerical at the end. We even noticed during the
calls that one elderly gentleman stood up.
We head to the pub as threee actors who have become bound through an inner
discovery linked with the help of my boy Rhys and Mr Mcguinness' words.
I'll never be the same again. So much can be said in a look.
Cheers boys, here's to our last night.
The last Night
Not the best show but then when are last nights. We all did our jobs keeping
inside the room, not tempted to send it up. To what was essentially an audience
full of friends and family.
Oddly enough at the end we are all more interested in when we are to meet up
the following week, rather than getting the pints down our necks with the insuing
crowds of mates and well wishers.
Again i think a strong bond has been formed here.
Thank yous are thrown around in a manner that is very pleasing as there is
a stong feeling that this isn't over. 'Well done we'll see you next week' thats
all the thanks you need in this game!!
Even Martin and Helen are looking forward to getting the next Yaller project
up and running. Stop crying then Helen!!!
Infact before we went up tonight Martin calls a meeting, We all sat down to
discuss how to go about planning the tour, plus there is a time
limit on finding our next play. ONE WEEK!!!
Beer!! Rhys is here, we all go to Stoneys minnus Rob, well come on he is an
old timer with four children. One suspects that he would be a laugh on the
bubbly stuff though.
Kevin and myself sink some guinness, Cheers Frank, we laugh as Danny get's
more and more drunk and rest, happy in the knowledge that we've had a
great impact on our audience, peers, familys and friends.
Can't wait till next week.
Neville's Island coming soon!!......

The Final week
We all turn up very early and it seems we are all very eagar to get
into the space.
I suppose it's to continue building this exciting sub text going on between
the three characters.
When i walk to the theatre there is a feeling like nothing i've ever
felt before. It's impending doom, with a daring edge. This only fizzes
through direct eye contact and a giving or an offer that is
so energetic it's freightening. I'm perminantly scared.
The play is really working well now, it's energy levels are good, the tears
do quite literally come through the laughter.
I've even started to cry at Michaels happy story now, and as for when Edward
turns to Adam and says 'They wount kill you I wount let them' the
lump in my throat is so big i feel sick.
Anyway it is a GREAT NIGHT!! The audience were one hundred percent in
that cell with us.
Friday 29th September
The South London Press review comes out. It is the best one so far. nobody
noticed!! We are really getting to understand this play now, and there is a
nice relationship building between the three of us.
Saturday 30th September
Rob has Kevin and myself in stiches at the pub after an uplifting performance.
His geordie impersenations are now legandry. It's been a great week perfectly
capped off with the best comment i've ever recieved from an actor.
'This is the best experience i've ever had. You two should be very proud of
yourselves'
Cheers Rob. He leaves with his beautiful wife. Me and Kevin sit for a moment.
Yep i think we can afford a little smile.
22nd September 2006
Rascal Maskell Day!!!
Wicked, everything is going so well. The press night last night went like a
dream all three of us were on song. Pheww!!
A good night tonight, big Friday night crowd, South London Press are in and
we are all mad for it.
Ohh,..someone's dropped a line. Was that me, or was that you..umm...no it was
Rob. Doesn't matter he'll pick it up and get it back.
No he wount, Mr Maskell, aka Michael has left the cell/building he's gone!!!
Errmm!!...We'll just have to help him out a bit Kev.
Scene 5 is interesting, a strange kind of excitement all the way through as
we all pluck lines of an imaginary tree. Nothing like live theatre to aid you
in bowl movement!! Blackout. I'm gone, i bet Kevin is bricking himself! Hahaha!
You've got to laugh!! Anyway Rob will be fine now.
Back in the dressing room!
Silence!!! Still silence, nothing comes over the tanoy in the dressing room!
S**t!!! I can hear Kevins Heart and Rob's beating like a crazy drum and base
tune. Well done Kevin he makes a turn around fear corner and drags the play
into it's final moments as Rob calmly assists as best he can. Poor lad he's
going to mortified.
Well done boy's we got through it, we made it and the audience loved it. Well
done!! Rob says nothing.
