Tape by Stephen Belber

Tape

by Stephen Belber

Jon is in Lansing premiering his film at the local Michigan based festival and Vince has come to support his old friend in his climb up the professional rankings. Amy Randall is also in town a lawyer who both of the boys fell for when all three attended high school. Unbeknown to Jon, Vince is on another very specific mission to correct a wrong that happened all those year ago. It would appear that they both fell for Amy but in completely different ways.

Tape was made as a film in 2001 with Ethan Hawke, Robert Sean Leonard and Uma Thurman. The play is a quickly paced flare of dialogue that is as much about perception as it is right and wrong.

Yaller Skunk returns to The Old Red Lion after successful runs of both ‘In my Name’ and ‘Back of the Throat.’ And this time they are looking deep into the changing situation that time can give an event. In a pressure filled society and with peers ever pressing our social buttons, how quickly can young people end up in situations that they are unable to escape from? Or perhaps more worryingly how many young people today have already been in these situations and perceive them as normal.

more soon!
